Cost-efficiency and reliability characterize RECOM Power’s RACM140E-K Series AC/DC power supplies, delivering a continuous output of 140 watts and a boost power of 210 watts for dynamic load surges lasting up to 10 seconds. The converter contains a built-in fusible device (either one or more fuses or a fusible resistor), so no external protection is normally necessary. It can tolerate a DC voltage on their outputs when they are not powered up as long as the external DC voltage is lower than their nominal DC output. This is a useful feature that enables, for example, a board to be powered up and calibrated or tested using a safe low voltage DC bench supply and then only plugged into the mains for a final check after the unit has been reassembled into its case.
